The main national networks where the CTN is involved are presented in this page, acquitting briefly the activities of each one of them.
National Mass Spectrometry Network (NMSN)
The NMSN had its origin in the proposal of the Network of Spectrometry of Mass
for Molecular and Biomolecular Analysis, submitted for the Faculdade de
Ciências from University of Lisbon to the Fundação para a Ciência e
Tecnologia (FCT), in the scope of the Program of Scientific Reequipment.
Currently it is constituted by the following institutions: Faculdade de
Ciências from Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Farmácia from Universidade de
Lisboa, Instituto Superior Técnico, Instituto Tecnológico e Nuclear,
Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica, Universidade de Aveiro, Centro
de Estudos Farmacêuticos/Universidade de Coimbra, Centro de Neurociências
from Universidade de Coimbra, Centro de Química/Universidade da Madeira.
NMSN
goals are the rationalization and maximization of the capabilities in the domain of the
spectrometry of mass of some regions of the continent and islands and the
support an active contribution between institutions. It constitutes an
unique infrastructure in the country, for reinforcement of the capacities in
R&D of multiple pertaining users from universities, institutes, hospitals,
industry, etc., in the multidisciplinary areas of chemistry, biochemistry,
pharmacology and medicine.
